The Aim of Mankind
THE AIM OF MANKIND is to provide a safe place for men to share how they are feeling without feeling judged and to support those who are struggling with their emotional and mental wellbeing.
CONFIDENTIALITY
- Key to building trust.
- We do not share things outside of the group.
DISCLOSURE
- We can learn a lot from each other by sharing our experiences.
- No one should feel obliged to disclose anything they are not ready to.
PARTICIPATION
- You only need to contribute whenever you feel comfortable to do so.
- Please do not turn up under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- The more you participate the more you will get out of the session.
LISTEN
- Try not to interrupt.
- Be supportive and empathetic.
- Don’t try and fix.
RESPECT
- Each other’s views.
- Do not judge.
GROUP PROTOCOLS
- It’s ok to become emotional and upset, it’s not ok to be aggressive or violent.
- We will discuss our worries and our feelings but not our views on politics, religion, sexuality and race.
MOBILE PHONES OR DEVICES
- Switched off or on silent.
- Leave the room if you need to take a call.
- No recording of the session.
SAFEGUARDING
- We do respect your right to confidentiality but reserve the right to seek help if we believe your life or that of others is in imminent danger.
